    From 6 June 2022 you will have to book a slot to visit Rayleigh Recycling Centre. The booking system will open from 23 May 2022. They have taken this measure following feedback from site users and local residents to address excess queuing and traffic at Rayleigh Recycling Centre, and on the surrounding roads. By trialling a booking system at Rayleigh they hope to improve how we manage this service and reduce queuing at peak times.

    As the cost of living crisis continues to go unaided by the government here are some (limited) schemes that may be able to help ease the burden

    If you're an Essex homeowner with a household income below £30,000, you may be eligible for up to £10,000 of work to make energy efficient improvements to your home.

    This could include fitting loft insulation, cavity or solid wall insulation or energy efficient heating (does not include gas or oil). The funding covers the entire cost of the improvements, up to £10,000.

    63,119 reports of anti-social behaviour in Essex have gone unattended by police in the past three years, new data has revealed.

    Rayleigh Liberal Democrats have blasted the Conservatives for being soft on crime and have demanded a return to community policing. The figures were uncovered through a Freedom of Information Request (FOI) tabled by the party to Essex Police.

    The Conservative Government is failing to deliver the promised 449 more police officers for Essex.

    Analysis of Home Office statistics by the Liberal Democrats has shown that Essex's officer numbers rose by only 169 in the last year.

    A total of 270 extra officers have been recruited by Essex Police under the Government's campaign that started in September 2019.
